HUBBA MEMBERSHIP BENEFITS
1. PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT OPPORTUNITIES: Through a series of workshops HUBBA assists its members with developing crucial skills for success in the professional world. HUBBA also offers its members opportunities in leadership on the executive board and committees
2. INTERNSHIPS/EXTERNSHIPS: INROADS, SAGE, AND SEO are three internship programs in which past and current members have participated and have received summer internships as a result. Subsequently, participants have been offered full time positions with premier Fortune 500 companies.
3. SPONSORED WORKSHOPS: HUBBA regularly hosts events in which representatives from our sponsoring companies, inclusive of the Big 4 Accounting Firms and Chevron, and other consulting, banking, marketing, finance, and other various fields come and enlighten students about their companies, and assist them in personal and professional development.
4. RESUME EXPOSURE: All members are afforded the opportunity to have their resumes included in HUBBA’s Official Resume Book, which is distributed to our sponsors during recruitment season.
5. ACADEMIC SUPPORT: Students are given the opportunity to take advantage of HUBBA’s academic resources such as sponsored Study Nights, tutoring, and a club favorite mentorship program dedicated to connecting members with upperclassmen in related fields and interests. Academic advisory services are also available. (Test preparation materials are available to paid members only).
6. MENTORSHIP PROGRAM: Undergraduates are matched with upperclassmen, Cal Alumni, and business professionals to promote further academic and professional development support.
7. SCHOLARSHIPS: On behalf of our sponsors, HUBBA annually awards the most dedicated and academically successful members with scholarships at the end of each spring semester.
8. NETWORKING OPPORTUNITIES: Members are exposed Fortune 500 companies and organizations such as the National Association of Black Accountants (NABA), which allow them opportunities to network with top tier professionals who are willing to provide them with further professional development advice. Collaborations with other established organizations such as the Latino Business Student Association (LBSA) and the Black Recruitment and Retention Center (BRRC) also enable HUBBA members to expand their networks and meet peers with similar interests.
9. SOCIAL EVENTS: HUBBA hosts socials and other events such as movie nights and group bowling to help students relieve stress during the academic year.
10. QUARTERLY ELECTRONIC NEWSLETTERS: HUBBA’s quarterly E-News is delivered to your inbox every month in order to keep you informed on resources or opportunities that may be of interest to you.
